UIC owns four courses that the Department of Education of Guangdong has selected as the provincial first-class undergraduate courses. Amony them, three courses are offered by Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), they are Optimisation, Introduction to Robotics, and Machine Learning. To date, nine UIC courses have been recognised as provincial first class.

Optimisation is a course under UIC's Statistics Programme and the programme is listed as first class nationally. This course introduces the fundamental theory and techniques for unconstrained and constrained optimisation.The course team incorporates case studies, adopts a heuristic teaching mode, integrates a multi-step teaching process, and establishes a high-quality course evaluation system.

Introduction to Robotics is a course of UIC's Artificial Intelligence Programme. The course introduces students to the concepts of autonomous robotic systems. It aims to use a hands-on approach to introduce the basic concepts of robotics, focusing on mobile robots. By adopting international teaching aids, students can design robots based on robotics hardware carriers to meet different functions.

Machine Learning is a core course of UIC's Data Science Programme, supporting the development of UIC’s Department of Statistics and Data Science, which is recognised as a national first class. The course introduces Machine Learning and its core models and algorithms. The course aims to give students the basic ideas and intuition behind modern machine learning methods and a more formal understanding of how, why, and when they work.
